‘Decision has been made’ – Manager confirms reported Spurs target will leave

Juventus boss Thiago Motta has confirmed that Federico Chiesa is not part of his plans and that the rumoured Tottenham target will depart the club before the end of the transfer window.

Tottenham were linked with Chiesa

It has been well-documented that Tottenham are looking to add another winger to their squad and Chiesa has been mooted as a target for the Lilywhites by a number of outlets.

Just last week, Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed that the Lilywhites continue to hold a ‘concrete’ interest in the Italy international, adding that the North London club had even spoken to the attacker’s representatives regarding a summer transfer.

However, other sources have played down the rumours, with Fabrizio Romano taking to social media a few days ago to deny that Spurs have had any contact with Juve regarding a deal for the winger.

Federico Chiesa will leave Juventus

Whether or not Chiesa ends up at Spurs, it is now clear that the former Fiorentina man will not be at the Allianz Stadium next season, with Motta confirming that the player has been asked to leave.

The Juve boss said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Chiesa and all the other players not called up for today’s game are NOT part of the project.

“We have been clear with them, they have to find new solution and new club as soon as possible. The decision has been made.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do expect Chiesa to end up in the Premier League this summer but it does not seem as if the Juve star is at the top of Postecoglou’s wishlist.

As things stand, Pedro Neto appears to be Spurs’ preferred target.
