Report claims Euro club pushing hard to sign 27-yo Man Utd target

0 2

Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are reportedly pushing hard to sign Manchester United target Sofyan Amrabat.

The 27-year-old joined United on loan for the 2023-24 season, with the club paying an initial fee of £8.5 million.

The Red Devils had the option to make the move permanent for £17m, but they opted against triggering the player’s buy-option.

The Premier League giants are interested in another temporary move for Amrabat who is also said to be keen to continue working with Erik ten Hag.

However, Tuttomercatoweb report Fenerbahce are pushing hard to secure the Moroccan’s services as their new manager Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer.

La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also said to be tracking him while some clubs in Serie A could also enter the fray.

Amrabat failed to make an impact for United for the majority of the season, but he delivered some excellent performances towards the end.

The 27-year-old featured in 21 Premier League matches last term, averaging 1.3 tackles, 2.9 ball recoveries and 0.9 clearances per game.

Erik ten Hag’s side are in the market for a new defensive midfielder this summer. Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte is their top priority but reaching an agreement with the Ligue 1 giants is proving to be difficult.

Amrabat could be a good alternative if the Red Devils fail to complete a deal for Ugarte.
