Chelsea Closing In On Teen Talent

Chelsea are now nearing a deal with Belgian side Genk for the signature of highly-rated goalkeeper Mike Penders.

 

The Pensioners are looking to make additions to their goalkeeping department this summer and multiple names have been linked with the club.

 

Chelsea are expected to sign goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen for the here and now, but they are also planning for the future.

 

 

They want to sign Genk’s 18-year-old goalkeeper Penders and are now rapidly closing in on doing so.

 

Chelsea are close to signing Penders on the basis of a €20m fee, according to Belgian daily HLN.

 

 

The deal also contains add-ons and Genk could earn more from Penders’ sale, which is the most expensive goalkeeper deal in Belgium ever.

 

While a move is being finalised, Chelsea have already chalked out their plans for the goalkeeper.

 

 

They will sign the player immediately and then send him out to Genk for the rest of the season.

 

Though Penders has just one senior appearance under his belt, Chelsea have identified potential in him.
