‘Amazing bright futures’ – Heung-min Son praises two Tottenham youngsters

Tottenham appear to have found the balance between exciting young talent for the future, and players who can actually serve the first team right now. Heung-min Son has been speaking about two of the brightest teenagers at the club, and has high praise for them.

Postecoglou impressed by Gray and Bergvall

Postecoglou has shown age is no barrier when it comes to players breaking through into his senior squad. Mikey Moore and Jamie Donley got minutes under their belt in the Premier League last season.

Now, in pre-season, we’ve seen a number of other academy products mixing it with the first-team. Most notably, though, are two new signings for Spurs: Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall.

The pair may not have come through the ranks at Tottenham, but they are making their mark early on in their Spurs career, and they’ve definitely won Heung-min Son over already.

Son told the press (via Football.London): “They’re working really hard every, every single day they want to show who they are. I think it’s just a joy to watch and both of them are working really hard — they just want to listen and just want to learn.

“I think that’s very important at this age because you hope those guys both have amazing bright futures. So, I’m always trying to help the two of them because they just came to a new club and they probably need a little bit of help from me. It’s just a joy to watch. Every single day they impress me with their attitude.”

Bergvall and Gray can have a huge impact for Spurs

Clearly, Son is not concerned with the expectations placed on two 18-year-olds ahead of the coming campaign.

He added: “They are young but they can make a huge impact for the team. These days, with this generation, I think age is not important. I think they should take a big responsibility and that is what they do every single day.

“So, if they do that in the game, I have no doubt they will be very, very good. So, let’s see what happens this season. I hope they will both be amazing players.”

These two players are the only reason I’m not losing my mind at the fact we haven’t signed any other players this summer.

They’ve both got the world at their feet, and it’s so exciting to think about what they can do for us, not just in the future, but right now.
