Hibs midfielder Nathan Moriah-Welsh was a standout performer in the 4-0 victory over Peterhead at Easter Road.

Goals from Lewis Miller (x2), Rudi Molotnikov and Nathan Moriah-Welsh ensured our place at the top of Group C in the Premier Sports Cup.

Moriah-Welsh scored his first competitive goal for the Club and picked up the Player of the Match reward as we cruised past Peterhead.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Moriah-Welsh shared his thoughts on a solid team performance and the positives to take from the Premier Sports Cup Group Stage.

“It was really positive from the whole team, we know it could have been more if we were a bit more ruthless, but it was four goals and a clean sheet, job done.

“These games are much better than pre-season fixtures, it’s competitive fixtures from the start.

“Everyone knows that we should have got 12 points in the group but it shows the resilience we have to go and get a 4-0 win today and see us through to the next round.”

The Hibees kick-start their league campaign away to St.Mirren on Sunday 4 August, a fixture the team are looking forward to.

“It’ll be a tough game, but it’s a game that we’re ready for.

“It’s going to be competitive as it has been for the last couple of weeks but we’re fully ready to go in and compete.”
