This Summer Was Right Time To Leave Spurs – Former Tottenham Star

0 2

Troy Parrott has insisted that this summer was the right time for him to move on from Tottenham Hotspur and get a fresh start in his career.

The Irish forward had loan spells at Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons, Preston and Excelsior before he eventually left Spurs in the ongoing transfer window.

He completed a permanent move to AZ Alkmaar from the north London club earlier in the summer.

The 22-year-old striker is hopeful that things will work out for him at AZ if he performs at a certain level.

He believes AZ are the right club for him as players get a chance to develop and improve and feels it was the right time for him to cut the cord with Tottenham.

Parrott told Dutch daily De Telegraaf: “I don’t want to put pressure on myself but if I play well and help the team, I hope it will work out.

“I think AZ are a good place where players get the chance to develop.

“I was at Tottenham for a long time, but it was time to move on.”

Parrott featured just four times for Tottenham in senior football and never scored a goal for the first team.

He has 23 international caps for Ireland and has five goals to his name at that level.
