Spurs are in the money with new Kraken deal

The money just keeps on pouring in for Spurs of late, as their search for a new shirt sleeve sponsor has come to an end. The club announced earlier today that crypto brand, Kraken, will become the new sponsor on a three-year deal.

Now, discussing the deal, Alasdair Gold shared what he knows and revealed the new agreement will be far more lucrative than Tottenham’s previous collaboration with Cinch.

Gold tweeted: “Now confirmed as Kraken in a three-year deal which will bring in substantially more than the previous Cinch sleeve sponsorship.”

Kraken is taking over for the Men’s and Women’s shirts. They replace Cinch, the online car sales company, who had been Tottenham’s first-ever sleeve sponsor in a deal that began in 2021.

Three-year Kraken deal will bring in more money

Gold’s claim that Spurs will receive more money from this deal aligns with a previous report from Football.London earlier this month, which revealed the club were in ‘advanced negotiations’ on a ‘huge’ deal that would ‘dwarf’ the previous agreement with Cinch.

Spurs were paid £10m-per-year by Cinch before the company decided to trigger an early exit clause in their contract with the Lilywhites, as they look to scale back their sponsorship commitments across the board.

The finer details of the deal with Kraken are yet to be revealed, but every new and increased revenue stream Tottenham unearth only serves to strengthen their position in terms of Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

I don’t think the sponsor looks like that nice on the sleeves — it’s a little too large for my liking — and I’m not all that keen on the idea of crypto companies in general. But, at least it means more money for the club.
