After signing a one-year deal with the Club, we take a look at the career of Ciara Grant.

An experienced midfielder with a keen eye for a killer pass, Grant began her footballing career in her native Ireland, whilst still studying at university.

At her first club, Raheny United she won an Irish League and FAI Cup double twice, in 2011/12 and 12/13 respectively, scoring the opening goal in the latter victory over UCD Waves.

Whilst playing for Raheny, she also attended the University College Dublin. She switched to the university side once they had entered a team into the Women’s National League, appearing in another Irish Cup final – against Raheny in 2014.

After a period away from football, Grant signed for Northern Irish side Sion Swifts in 2019. Spending one season at the club, she helped the side to a 2nd place finish in the Women’s Premiership.

In 2020, Grant returned to her native Republic of Ireland and signed for Shelbourne. She won the National League title in her second season at the club, and also finished runners-up in the 2021 FAI Cup, despite scoring in the final.

In January 2022, Grant made the short hop across the Irish Sea and signed her first professional football contract with Rangers. Going the season unbeaten, she helped the Glasgow side lift their first SWPL title.

After her successful stint in Glasgow, Grant signed for Hearts in the summer of 2022. Across two seasons at the club, she became an integral part of the side that challenged at the top half of the SWPL.

On the international front, Grant made her full Republic of Ireland debut in 2012, coming on as a second-half substitute against the USA.

Racking up a handful of caps – she was part of the Republic of Ireland squad that qualified for the 2023 Women’s World Cup and played her part in helping her side to a record 11-0 victory over Georgia in qualifying.
