Report: Tottenham are looking for a new sponsor deal to fill £10m-per-year void

According to a report from Sport Business, Tottenham Hotspur will have to find a new sleeve sponsor for their kits in the upcoming season, after Cinch decided to pull out of its five-year deal early as the car sales company strips back its sponsorship outlay.

Tottenham need a new shirt sleeve sponsor

Cinch has featured on the sleeves of Tottenham kits since 2021, in a deal thought to be worth at least £10m per year for the club.

However, Cinch are believed to be scaling back operations when it comes to sponsorship deals. The online sales website has already ended its association with the Scottish Premier League, too, with William Hill taking over there.

Early exit from Tottenham for Cinch

As per the report, Cinch had an early exit option in its contract with Tottenham, which has been exercised to bring the five-year agreement to an end two years early.

Tottenham had already announced that sales of kits for the 2024/25 season would not feature a sleeve sponsor. The Cinch logo had been notable in its absence from the kit reveal earlier this month.

The statement from Spurs read: “For the 2024/25 season, all of our kits will be sold without the sleeve partner logo, and our training range will be sold without the training wear partner logo. These are excluded from retail inventory for the coming season.”

Turkish company Getir will no longer be the training wear sponsor for Spurs, with the shopping outlet believed to be £5m in debt with the Lilywhites (Sky News).

BetMGM will take over from Getir, but it remains to be seen which company will take over from Cinch on the sleeves of Spurs kits this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

It’s all change at Spurs for the upcoming season then, with only AIA remaining as one of our sponsors.

It’ll be interesting to see which company comes in next for the sleeves, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it being an even bigger deal for Spurs.
