The reports linking Gimenez with a move to Spurs continue to intensify as we edge closer to the opening of the summer transfer window.

Last week, it was reported by GiveMeSport that Ange Postecoglou is keen to fill the void left by Harry Kane’s departure last summer and has set his sights on the Feyenoord star.

The outlet claimed that the North London club now see the Mexican international as a ‘priority’ target and are set to begin dialogues with Feyenoord over a deal.

The publication added that Spurs will now ‘press ahead with their interest’ in the 23-year-old and are keen to understand how much the operation would cost.

Should Tottenham sign Ivan Toney this summer?

Meanwhile, Toney, who has just a year left to run on his contract with Brentford, also continues to be linked with a move to Spurs, with ESPN naming him just a couple of days ago as one of the centre-forwards on Postecoglou’s wishlist.

Speaking about Tottenham’s summer plans, Jones has now told Ranks FC Ultras Podcast: “The big one will be the Richarlison replacement, they need to get a proper goalscorer here. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them go for Ivan Toney, but Santiago Gimenez is another realistic option here.”

A lot will depend on whether Tottenham do cash in on Richarlison and the decision will certainly not be an easy one for Postecoglou. The Brazilian has been in terrific form whenever he has played over recent months but his inability to stay fit would be a matter of concern for the Australian.
