Brandon Austin: Looked comfortable when he punched clear from a corner kick. Pushed the ball into the path of Isak for the equaliser. 6.

Pedro Porro: Has played the majority of the half in the Newcastle attacking third given Spurs’ dominance of play. 6.

Radu Dragusin: Has not been troubled by Isaak or any of the Magpies attacking players on the break. 6.

Micky van de Ven: Back in his familiar central position. Has not had to show off his lightning pace on many occasions. 6.

Emerson Royal: Nearly had an early chance on goal, however the ball got caught under his feet. Could have done more to block the cross for the equaliser. 6.

Pape Matar Sarr: Had a great opportunity to open the scoring but couldn’t get Maddison’s pass under control with a heavy first touch 6.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Operating in the number six role, has had a really comfortable first half. 6.

James Maddison: Dragged his first shot wide from outside of the penalty area on the 20-minute mark. Played a clever pass to Sarr for a decent chance on goal. Picked the ball up from Pope’s loose pass to fire the ball beyond the Newcastle keeper. 8.

Dejan Kulusevski: Playing again in the central role which we saw at Sheffield United, has had some nice touches and applied the early press which led to Pope’s error for the goal.. 6.

Heung-min Son: Had an early shot which hit the hand of a Newcastle defender with no penalty given. Played a lovely ball across the box for Johnson’s chance. Has looked really lively on the left. 7.

Brennan Johnson: Would have thought he scored a second when he got onto the end of Son’s cross only to see his effort saved by Pope. 6.
