Did Ederson hint at Man City exit with outfit on Premier League final day as it emerges he is ‘considering QUITTING’?

EDERSON may have hinted at a potential Manchester City exit on the same day his side won a fourth successive title.

The Brazilian ace is reportedly considering his future at the Etihad amid interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Ederson has always cut a happy figure under Pep Guardiola, helping City scoop six titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League.

But there were signs of discontent when he was subbed off in the 2-0 win at Tottenham this month.

Ederson suffered a slight fracture to his eye socket after a collision with Cristian Romero.

And he threw a wobbly on the touchline after being subbed off, even kicking a water bottle before bursting into tears.

It meant he missed City’s final game of the season, a 3-1 win over West Ham.

And Ederson may just have dropped a bizarre hint over his future while sat in the stands.

As teammates decked themselves out in City gear, Ederson watched the match while wearing a T-shirt bearing his OWN face.

Footballers sometimes don tops with another player’s face for special occasions, such as mourning a big injury or toasting the end of a career.

But by showing off his own mug, was Ederson giving himself a personal send-off?

It appears he may have dropped another hint later on too, as he left the Etihad with a £1,200 bottle of wine.

Ederson's career stats

Those numbers in full:

  • Ribeirao, 2011-2012: 30 games
  • Rio Ave, 2012-2015: 63 games
  • Benfica, 2015-2017: 56 games
  • Man City, 2017-2024: 332 games
  • Brazil, 2017-2023: 25 goals
  • Trophies: Primeira Liga, Portuguese Cup, League Cup (Benfica); Premier League x6, FA Cup x2, Carabao Cup x4, Community Shield x2, Champions League, uefa Super Cup, Club World Cup (Man City); Copa America (Brazil)

Should Ederson leave City, Guardiola is likely to move for a new goalkeeper.

However, he could end up making No2 Stefan Ortega his first-choice stopper.

The German has proven himself to be a capable deputy.

And Guardiola hailed him after an incredible save against Spurs effectively secured City’s spot as champs.

Pep said: “One on one he’s one of the best goalkeepers I’ve seen in my life.

“He’s so reliable. An incredible decision by our goalkeeping coach to bring him.

“Ortega saves the action, otherwise Arsenal are champions – that is the reality. The margins are so tight.”
