Man Utd get big injury boost with two stars spotted travelling for Brentford game

0 5

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost with Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire spotted travelling with the squad for the Premier League clash at Brentford.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium this evening and the team have opted to travel on the same day in order to have a better recovery.

Ahead of the game, the club have received a big boost with Martinez and Maguire part of the group.

Martinez has not played for the Red Devils since picking up a knee injury against West Ham United in early February. He returned to training recently and could now face the Bees.

United manager Erik ten Hag said yesterday that there is a chance that he could be available. Martinez’s trip to west London suggests that he could be involved in some capacity.

Meanwhile, Maguire has also travelled with the squad, having recovered from a minor injury sustained on international duty with England. He suffered the setback against Brazil.

The return of the duo is definitely a huge boost for United, who need to pick up three points against Thomas Frank’s side to sustain their pursuit of Champions League football.

The club are currently nine points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. They have a game in hand over the former.

United need to go on a long winning streak in the season run-in to pile the pressure on the duo.

Brentford are presently in a poor run with one point attained from six games, but the Red Devils can’t take them lightly as they can prove a stubborn defensive opposition at times.

Prior to the international break, the Bees almost picked up a draw against high-flying Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Kai Havertz sealed the points for the Gunners with a late winner.
