‘Sign players now’ – Some Spurs fans react to Carabao Cup exit to Chelsea
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media after watching their side crash out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage.
Tottenham came into the game already 2-0 down from the first leg at Stamford Bridge a week ago and once again were guilty of an individual mistake which proved costly when Pierluigi Gollini’s missed punch resulted in Antonio Rudiger heading home to further extend his side’s advantage.
Referee Andre Marriner awarded the home side two penalties on either side of the half, only for VAR to intervene on both occasions and Harry Kane also had a goal chalked off in the second-half following a VAR review for offside.
It was a much better second-half performance from Antonio Conte’s side who had rarely threatened Kepa’s goal during the first half.
Tottenham now turn their attention to a North London derby at home to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
This is what some fans have had to say about what they witnessed during the defeat.
It ended about half time in the 1st game, no passion, no fight, no hope

The club is embarrassing. Back the manager

Well we know the players that need to go and the areas we need to improve. Hopefully the board backs Conte otherwise what’s the point in appointing him. Two big transfer windows coming up but we need to actually sell players even for a loss to start that rebuild

Gave them 3 goals over two legs, never in the game & no attacking threat. The difference in the benches speaks volumes & will Conte stay if no new signings?! #THFC #COYS #TOTCHE #CarabaoCup

Well at least we can now look forward to losing to arsenal and getting beaten by Chelsea again in the next week. Oh, and of course doing absolutely fuck all in the transfer market again. . Brilliant supporting this club.

This is too much,we got to spend some money man and I don't mean some f***ing millions on prospects like Emerson and Gil, they need time but you can't put your hope on them or on a striker who shoots every couple games or on the team hero(son) becauseif he's injured we're f***ed

If the owners don't want to inject money into the club to make up for their own mistakes, could they be bothered to sell their shares to someone who will?

Firstly, I hope the fan and their family in the South Stand are ok.
I was hoping Tottenham would come into the game with energy and fight, but that didn’t happen. Yet again a lot of bad final balls and sloppy passing and it’s another semi-final knockout. pic.twitter.com/mOAvyf10cM
