Report: Mourinho growing frustrated at Spurs’ transfer business

Jose Mourinho

According to a report in The Sun, Jose Mourinho is becoming increasingly frustrated at Tottenham Hotspur’s failure to land a suitable back-up to Harry Kane this summer.

Spurs have been proactive in the transfer market so far, securing the signings of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon.

However, Mourinho has admitted that he wants to bring in another centre-forward before the transfer window shuts (Football.London).

The Lilywhites have been linked with several names over recent weeks including Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik (Calcio Mercato), Benfica’s Haris Seferovic (Mais Transferencias), and Wolfsburg’s Wout Weghorst (The Express).

Despite this, reports indicate that the club are not close to signing a forward as things stand (Alasdair Gold).

The Sun reveal that Mourinho is having a hard time understanding why Spurs are the only big club in the Premier League to have only one natural centre-forward when their rivals boast several options.

The report asserts that the Tottenham boss wanted to sign Ollie Watkins as Kane’s understudy before the striker completed a move to Aston Villa, and is becoming frustrated that Spurs still have not managed to sign a striker of any kind.

Spurs Web Opinion

Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he wants to sign a striker and that he has faith that the club will be able to land one before the window shuts. Jose is not someone to hide his frustration when he is not happy with the support he is getting from the top, and I am sure he would have publicly hinted at his discontent with the transfers if he was frustrated.
