Player Ratings: Colorado 2-3 RSL

0 9

A few RSL men stepped up on the road.

Andrew Putna - 7 Putna came up big time when the ref pointed to the spot for Colorado giving them a chance to level the game. He helped earn the three points for RSL and had three critical saves.

Aaron Herrera - 5 Herrera did some good things but also had a couple of costly errors in bad places on the field.

Justen Glad - 4 Glad very well could have been sent off for his risky tackle. He also had a poor deflection on Acosta’s goal to change the momentum of the game. He did a nice job of closing the game out down the stretch, however.

Nedum Onuoha - 5.5 Nedum got involved in the attack as much as we have ever seen from him. He was a calming presence in the back.

Donny Toia - 4 Toia got beat on his side a few times and got embarrassed once to the point that he ultimately conceded a penalty.

Nick Besler - 6 You have to give a lot of credit to Besler. He had a nice night in Colorado and had the best pass of the game to put the ball right at Baird’s feet leading to a goal.

Corey Baird - 6.5 Baird’s first touch on his goal and the finish itself were both really good. It was good to see Baird creating and in a nice rhythm.

Albert Rusnak - 6.5 Rusnak redeemed himself after last week with a much better PK. He really helped close the game out by holding up the ball under pressure.

Damir Kreilach - 6 Kreilach had a quiet yet effective game and set up Johnson for the go-ahead goal. I’m not sure why he was not credited with an assist, but he made it happen at the right time.

Bofo Saucedo - 7 Bofo had his best game in a long time. Even though he did not have a goal or an assist, he was by far RSL’s most dangerous player on the night. He had his way with the Rapids defenders and got into the box enough times to will a goal for RSL.

Sam Johnson - 7 Johnson got another start and another goal. It is really nice to have a striker that knows how to find a way to get a ball in the net.

Substitutes

Joao Plata - 5.5 Plata did some good stuff in his 22 minutes on the field and was a couple inches away from finishing off the game.

Brooks Lennon - 5 Lennon had about 10 minutes or so to help close the game out. He did a good job of being patient and killing the clock.

Marcelo Silva - N/A
