Chelsea and Bayern Munich are plotting summer move for Manchester United forward Anthony Martial despite not playing at the just concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia.

According to a UK Sun report, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is unwilling to offload the French forward, despite not playing him during the second half of last campaign.

The Frenchman has 12 months left on his present deal at Old Trafford and has been linked with a move away from the Old Trafford after been frustrated after the arrival of ex-Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez in January.

Before the Chilean completed the switch to Manchester United, the 22-year-old Martial and Three Lions ace Marcus Rashford shared the responsibility on the left position.

The report further added that Martial’s lack of playing time may have contributed to his inability to make the World Cup winning French squad.

However, with reports linking Eden Hazard with a move to Los Blancos, Chelsea are keeping vigil for a quality replacement and are considering Martial according to a Sunday Times report.

On the other hand, German champions Bayern Munich are also looking at Martial ahead of the new campaign.

At the moment, Portuguese manager Mourinho may be unhappy with the duo of Chelsea or Bayern for attempting to snatch his player who can still be a star.

Red Devils teammate Ander Herrera is backing the Martial to turn the corner very soon.

“Anthony looks very sharp and he is very, very focused to smash it this season.

“Players like Anthony, like Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez — they are all amazing players who can change games,” the 28-year-old Spaniard was quoted as saying.

Interestingly, former Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal signed Martial from Monaco in 2015 and rated him among the world's best player at his age.

Martial still has a huge price tag that might likely scare away potential suitors like Chelsea or Bayern Munich.
