How are they in relation to the cost of housing, food, utilities, fuel?
2010: median wage £26100, average house price £180k
2024: median wage £35464, average house price £299000
Compared: Median wages up 35%, house prices up 66%
It depends what you include.
Owner occupier's housing costs aren't included in CPI but the are in CPIH for instance.
'Real terms' means all of the other things you mention are taken into account.
