I think Burnley were interested, but he chose Rangers instead. They do have European football tbf.

Although the European football wouldn't be till next year (or are Rangers still in it?). Think he is likely using this move to put himself in the shop window for 1 last big contract - either that or the injuries have taken such a toll that he is winding down his career.
