[Swimming & Diving] Anderson named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team
CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team
St. Ambrose swimmer Bethany Anderson has been named to the 2021 Academic All-District At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Nominees must be starters or important reserves, sophomores or older, with at least 3.30 cumulative grade point averages.
The at-large team includes student-athletes from the following sports: women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's crew/rowing, men's and women's fencing, women's field hockey, men's and women's golf, men's and women's gymnastics, men's and women's ice hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rifle, men's and women's skiing, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and men's wrestling.
Anderson represents District 3, which includes NAIA colleges from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. She now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team ballot, where first- and second-team All-America honorees will be selected.
This is the second straight year Anderson has earned Academic All-District honors. The Hayesville, N.C., native was a 2021 NAIA All-American and holds four individual school records - 50-yard backstroke (28.85 seconds), 100-yard backstroke (1:00.70), 100-yard butterfly (58.82 seconds) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.87). Anderson, a junior, also holds school records in four separate relays - 400-yard freestyle, 800-yard freestyle, 200-yard medley and 400-yard medley. She is majoring in Business Sales and Marketing at St. Ambrose.
