This year we have dedicated the month of May as the annual Ontario Cycling Women’s Month. This month is not just about promotion and recognition of many valuable community contributors but also shows how diverse and vibrant the cycling community is.

MAY 1ST
NCIM Women’s Only Try the Track

If you’re a female rider who is new to cycling and wants to get some experience on the track, join NCIM on Friday May 1st for a Women’s Only Try the Track event to celebrate OC Women’s Month!

MAY 2ND
NCCP Basic Cycling Skills
Ottawa, ON
Instructor: Chantal Thompson
Basic Cycling Skills provides an opportunity for “on-bike” practice in skill teaching and analysis, coaching, and provided lesson plans. The program is simple, based on several pre-designed lesson plans, and adaptable to participants’ varying skill and ability levels. The program’s focus is on having participants develop skills that are basic to MTB, BMX, and Road, in a controlled, off-road, off-trail setting such as a sports field or parking lot.

Your Guide to Being Unstoppable – Webinar
Hosted by Molly Hurford & Sasha Gollish
Join longtime cycling journalist Molly Hurford and athlete-slash-researcher Dr. Sasha Gollish as they talk about becoming unstoppable, in your riding, racings, training and life. Based on the research-backed Unstoppable journal Sasha put out with Strong Girl Publishing, we’ll share simple strategies and easy tweaks to maximize your training gains, and more importantly, your love of the sport. When girls and women believe they can be unstoppable, there’s no end to what they can accomplish in and outside of sport.

KW Cycling Academy Women & Girls – MTB Mondays – Ride and Thrive
Join KW Cycling Academy, as we celebrate Women in Cycling and continue to build the women’s cycling community!
KW Cycling Academy is hosting MTB Mondays for women and girls aged 7+. These female focused MTB sessions will help build confidence, support skills development, provide an opportunity to connect with like-minded people and grow the women and girls cycling community.

A Clinical Approach to Bike Fitting: Key Considerations for Women

Join Kyle Rempel for an educational seminar exploring the clinical foundations of comfort, efficiency, and performance for the female cyclist.
The Bicycle Fit Lab is a leader in evidence-based bike fitting and rider assessment. We are excited to present this educational seminar designed to empower women with a deeper understanding of the bike fitting process and how it specifically applies to the female cyclist.
This session will highlight the key anatomical, functional, and performance-related factors that influence fit, helping riders better understand how a more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable position on the bike can be achieved.
Whether you are a recreational rider or competitive cyclist, this seminar will provide valuable insight into the clinical approach to bike fitting and how it can enhance the overall cycling experience.

Alyse (Aly) Hodgins is a Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience, 8 of which have been working in High Performance Cycling. With certifications from Bike Fit Canada, Retul, Sport Physio Canada and advanced training in musculoskeletal assessment and treatment, Aly has used this unique lens to support the National Track Cycling Team through 2 Olympic cycles. Aly is currently the clinic director at the Health and Performance Centre at the University of Guelph. She is involved in saddle health research involving both armature and professional cyclists. Outside of work, Aly enjoys riding her bike in Halton Hills, Curling and spending time with her 2 young daughters.

Throughout the month of May Georgian Bay Women’s Cycling Club will be hosting a series of 15km no drop try-it rides to help us celebrate OC Women’s Month.

Join Minii Adventures for an exciting evening exploring Trail Hub’s exciting gravity-fed flow trails in celebration of Ontario Cycling Women’s Month! This is a free no-drop group ride.

Tour of Kincardine – Women’s Only Discount
To celebrate OC Women’s Month they will be offering the ‘Early Bird’ Pricing for all women looking to register until May 28th!
About the Event:
The Tour of Kincardine is a mountain bike event and more! It is a cross-discipline classic bike race which follows the many single track trails and lake front of Kincardine. Most of your race time will be spent in single track. But the trail segments are connected by fast forest and lakeside routes with opportunity to pass. There is a short course route (10k) designed for beginners and a very challenging long course (30k).

Railway City Cycling Club Women’s Only Ride
To celebrate Women’s Month, Railway City Cycling Club will be hosting a Women’s Ride (club members only) on May 29th. The ride will go from St. Thomas to Port Stanley where they will join a yoga instructor for a one hour session of beach yoga followed by a coffee stop before riding back to St. Thomas to finish the day!

Hardwood Ultimate Women’s MTB Clinics
These clinics offer instruction and skill development for beginner and intermediate recreational riders. The Hardwood instructors will help you conquer the trails, regardless of your experience. Enjoy a healthy snack AND lunch to keep you fueled up. Come with friends or make new ones. Finish the day with one of two clinic options: Mechanics or a mobility stretch.

Hardwood Women’s 4 Hour MTB Relay
On the May 30th & 31st weekend, the Women’s 4-Hour MTB Relay (Event Date: June 6th) course will be up and available for pre-ride for only $10 per person (whether you are registered for the event or not). This is a great way for the newer riders to test out their inclusive course and gain confidence before the only Women’s only MTB race.

GHCH Annual Girls and Women’s Ride
Golden Horseshoe Cycling Hub (GHCH) is proud to host a Girls and Women’s Ride on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Devil’s Punch Bowl in Hamilton, Ontario.
This ride is designed to bring together girls and women of all skill levels in a welcoming, supportive, and encouraging environment. Participants will enjoy guided trail riding while building confidence, developing skills, and connecting with others in the cycling community. Trial ride lead by NCCP Trained Female Coaches.
Aligned with Cycling Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework and GHCH’s commitment to creating inclusive and accessible programming, this event aims to:
- Encourage participation among girls and women in cycling
- Build confidence and foundational trail skills
- Create community connections through shared riding experiences
- Reduce barriers to entry for new and developing riders
- Promote lifelong engagement in cycling
