Director Spotlight: Anjulie Latta

Meet Anjulie one of our Directors at Large.

-Tell us a little about you?
I am a lover of all things nature and when not working, I would prefer to be off the grid – travelling and exploring and always hunting for the perfect alpine lake or natural hot springs to skinny dip in. I have a wonderful husband who is my forever adventure partner, and 2 children who still think I’m cool (for now). Unpopular opinions: cats over dogs, pineapple DOES belong on pizza, and it is possible to live and play on the north shore without being fully clad in Arc’teryx.

– What is your day job?

I’m a consultant, which is business speak for being a professional problem solver. I offer strategy and management consulting services that provide actionable solutions to address complex business challenges, from strategic planning to streamlining operations. I help organizations develop a strong brand identity, and determine which digital solutions are the most impactful for creating efficiencies in their sales and marketing departments. From building an ideal customer profile, optimizing communications channels, and determining software solutions, I focus on the aspects of business transformation that will drive growth.

– Why did you join the board?
It was a goal of mine to give back to the community whose work I benefit firsthand from. I’m so excited to be part of a group who are working to make mountain biking more accessible and inclusive, while keeping sustainability in mind.

– How long have you been mountain biking?

Just over 10 years. I really should be better at it by now, but I can’t get over my irrational fear of woodwork.

– Favourite Trails(on or off the Shore)?

On the shore – Dreamweaver. Off the shore – Atomic Dog in Galbraith in Bellingham – the perfect combination of tech, flow, and woo-hoo out loud moments.

– How do you spend time off the trails?

If I’m not biking, I’m hiking, or skiing. Then I’m sitting while eating and drinking and planning my next adventure. I love to backcountry camp, travel, and road trip off the beaten track with my trusty jeep and rooftop tent.

Quick answers

– Describe Riding the North Shore?

Type 2 fun – challenging but the good kind.

– Favourite Riding Season?

Summer so rides can finish with a dip in the river or a lake. But fall hero dirt is all time!

– Sunrise or Sunset?

Sunrise! To witness the world waking up is a beautiful thing. It’s the most peaceful and hopeful time of day.

– Post ride Cafe order?

Can you even ride without finishing with a beer? Is that allowed? I dare not try.

– Song on repeat?

Dance Yrself Clean by LCD Soundsystem – my forever hype song.
