Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles report 23.11.18   Round 6 of the Notts Derby Cyclo League was held at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham hosted by Nottingham Clarion. Being alongside the river Trent in a low lying area the course is generally a very muddy venue. This year with no really heavy rain falling the course was very much more rideable for most riders and the usual heavy jet washing was not required by most of the competitors. The usual mix of fast flat sections, wooded areas and off cambered banks made for good fast racing in all classes. A new course for Julie Tipper of Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles, didn’t daunt the V50F rider and she again rode a first class race. She was always in contention and finished a very good 2nd to the class winner, Elizabeth Bridgen of Ilkeston CC. Mercia CC-Lloyds Cycles Oliver Parker rode in the Senior men’s class. A relative novice in a strong class of riders he showed his general fitness when crossing the line in 17th place a good effort in a class with a lot of very good riders.
