0 12

The 57th Romanian Correspondence Chess Championship held between May 2019 and March 2021, ended with the victory of the well-known Romanian chess player Partenie Mihai.

Tudor Ristea had the same score but Sonneborn Berger tiebreak decided that Parenie Mihai takes the title of Romanian Correspondence Chess Champion 2021.

Partenie Mihai is born on May 25, 1947 in the locality of Albești, Bistrita. New Romanian correspondence chess champion asserted himself in 1982 as a player in the UMT team from the city on Bega. Also in that period, he started his coaching activity (which he combined optimally with his service in the technical field), achieving success at the national junior finals with his daughters Laura (sports teacher) and Narcisa (master candidate ), and later with Monica-Karina Lucian-Hoffmann and Diana Corolea. In 1986 he also started the arbitration activity, becoming in 2011 a FIDE arbitrator.

He has been playing chess by mail since 1992, playing over 400 games to date. Last year, the ICCF awarded him the titles of CCE (Correspondence Chess Expert) and CCM (Correspondence Chess Master).

With the piety of daily life, Partenie Mihai edited every year, together with his late wife, the sports teacher Eleonora Mihai, the magazine “Dream of a pawn” (under the auspices of the club Mediator Giarmata Vii, which they founded together), a profession of faith of love for the younger generations of chess.
