THE 15th IAN McNAB MEMORIAL TROPHY 2023-24

Not many members left who knew Ian McNab, but those that do, have many memories, good and bad! Ian would have loved this event in his name and in true McNab style, no seeding, no grades and, no requirements to be silent during play!
Once again, we played 960 (Fisher-Random) chess which takes out everybody’s opening knowledge! This would have suited Ian right down to the ground!
We had 14 players involved this year, which given the format and how busy the season has been was a great turnout, thank you! Included in the line up was a golden oldie, a club legend, a junior sensation, and a Phoenix!
Congratulations to Vladyslav Drabych who won the Ian McNab Memorial for the second time!
