CLUB NIGHT REPORT (Thurs 20th June 19)
18 players down, 7 of them juniors! Tonight saw two Random Knockout matches, one between the two Ray`s of the chess club! But it did not go well for one of them!

RANDOM KNOCKOUT
Results – Q/F`s
Robert Jackson (1564) 1, (1064) John Lynch 0
Well it would have been a big upset if John had won. To be fair he put up a fight, but in the end Robert finally got the better of John as expected to move into the Semi-Finals of the Random Knockout.

Ray Noble (1482) 1, (1512) Raymond Flood 0
They sat down, shock hands and four moves and two minutes later, it was all over! Ray was a bewildered but happy player, while the other Ray was not! It was an error on Raymond Floods part, in which he duly resigned, rather than prolong the agony. Sometimes you are just not in the mood or zone to play chess and that is when disaster strikes. Ray Noble the defending champion did not complain and moves into the Semi-Final stages of the competition.

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Also on was the Junior Club Championship which is drawing to a close and players are trying to get in as many matches a possible to get into the top four places for the finals night! Ramit Kanodia and Rishabh Akula are both in it, but we still have two spots to fill!  They only have two more nights to get themselves in the last two spots, Thurs 27th June 19 & Thurs 4th July 19. The final will either be Thurs 11th or 18th July 19. Ramit is the holder!
In all 9 matches were played tonight and putting themselves in with a chance of reaching the finals were, Ram Shama J9; Alexander Barron-Majerik J7 and Tom Grosset J12.
