Mets Minors Recap: Wenninger Fans Five in Triple-A Debut
Jack Wenninger, the No. 6 Mets prospect on MLB Pipeline, threw 4 2/3 shutout innings Wednesday, struck out five, and helped the Mets to a 4-2 victory over Toledo. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound right-hander threw 53 of 85 pitches for strikes. He may have gotten more attention last season if it weren’t for Nolan McLean, Jonah Tong and Brandon Sproat. He was second in the Eastern League in strikeouts to Tong.
