LHP Eduardo Rodriguez vs. RHP Nolan McLean

Another World Baseball Classic has reached its final, and Team USA has made an appearance for the third-straight tournament. They’ll be looking to beat Team Venezuela, which is making its first WBC finals appearance.
Leading Team USA from the mound will be Mets pitching sensation Nolan McLean, who didn’t shine as bright as he hoped in his first appearance during pool play, when he gave up three earned runs off two homers against the surprisingly powerful Italy team.
On Tuesday evening, McLean will face a much more obviously powerful lineup: Ronald Acuña Jr., Jackson Chourio, Maikel Garcia, Wilyer Abreu, Eugenio Suárez, the Contreras brothers (Willson and William), and Salvador Perez lead in the power department, with players like Luis Arraez, Wilfredo Tovar and Andrés Giménez rounding out the lineup.
These two teams have faced off in the knockout round just once before in the quarterfinals in 2023. Team USA won.

Game Notes
It seems like just about every bullpen piece is available for Team USA, except for David Bednar. The same can’t be said for Venezuela, who played on Monday night and used seven pitchers.

Carlos Mendoza should have a fun evening tonight, with his home country facing off against one of his best starters.
