Multiple Reports: Mackenzie Gore Traded to Rangers
MacKenzie Gore has been traded from the Nationals to the Rangers, in a deal that will send five prospects back to the nation’s capital. Jon Heyman of the New York Post was first on the scene, giving out the information that Gore would be heading to Texas. Jeff Passan of ESPN first reported the amount of prospects in the deal.

This isn’t the first time Gore has been involved in a blockbuster trade. The soon-to-be 27-year-old lefty was dealt to Washington in 2022, as part of the massive prospect return for Juan Soto.
The players coming in return for Gore are Gavin Fien, who was the 12th overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, Abimelec Ortiz, Devin Fitz-Gerald, Alejandro Rosario and Yeremy Cabrera. Robert Murray of FanSided was first to report on the names being traded back to the Nationals.
Gore has shown flashes of promise since making it to the big leagues, but the Rangers are hoping to get more out of him than the 4.19 ERA he amassed in his three-and-a-half year tenure in D.C.
The Rangers trade for Gore with two years left of control.
