The Mets signed Kevin Herget to a minor league deal, Will Sammon of The Athletic reported. The right-hander had a 3.00 ERA in 12 major league innings for the Mets in 2025.

The Guardians have inked 35-year-old reliever Shawn Armstrong to a one-year, $5.5 million deal, as first reported by Jeff Passan of ESPN. Armstrong is coming off of an exceptional 2025, pitching to a 2.31 ERA in 71 appearances out of the Rangers’ bullpen.

The Washington Nationals announced Tuesday that they have hired Anirudh Kilambi as their general manager under president Paul Toboni. Kilambi spent his first five years in baseball with the Tampa Bay Rays before joining the Phillies, where he served as assistant general manager from 2021 to 2025.

Additionally, the Nationals added former Mets reliever Fernando Nieve to their Triple-A coaching staff as lead pitching coach, per the Washington Post’s Spencer Nusbaum. Nieve spent all of 2010 with New York, posting a 6.00 ERA across 40 appearances.

The Dodgers’ back-to-back World Series titles earned each full-share player $484,747.57 from a $128.2 million MLB postseason pool, the largest individual payout in league history. Toronto players received $354,118.39 per full share. More on the amount of shares issued here, via The Athletic.

Former top-100 prospect Tyler Austin has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Cubs, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Austin came up with the Yankees and spent four seasons in the majors from 2016-19 before heading to Japan, where he hit .293/.377/.563 with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars.
