The blockbuster trade that sent longtime Met Brandon Nimmo to Texas is now official. Former All-Star second baseman Marcus Semien is officially a New York Met, in a move made to shore up the team defensively. As part of the transaction, the Mets sent an additional five million dollars to Texas to offset the salary difference.
The Mets shared several posts wishing Nimmo the best moving forward, including a video commemorating his time with the franchise. Brandon Nimmo was a Met from when he was drafted in 2011 until yesterday.
