Puerto Rican Double-A Baseball League to open on February 1, 2026
The Baseball Federation of Puerto Rico (FBPR) announced that the 2026 Superior Double-A League will open on February 1.
The defending champions, Juncos Mulos, will host the opening game. On February 6, all the participants will take the field.
The 2026 Double-A League will include 45 participating teams split into eight divisions. The first round of the postseason, best-of-five Division semifinals and best-of-seven Division finals, will determine the participants in the Carnival of Champions (Carnaval de Campeones), and the top four finishers in the eight-team round robin will compete in the best-of-seven semifinals. The winners will play for the pennant in the best-of-seven final series.
The Champions Cup (Copa de Campeones) will precede the 2026 Double-A season. The preseason event is scheduled on January 16, 18, 23 and 25.
From January 2 to 4, FBPR will host the league's annual Convention in Guayanilla.
