SSC’s PAC Rats Theatre Company Presents Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple – A Hilarious Twist on a Classic Comedy
South Holland, IL – The PAC Rats Theatre Company of South Suburban College proudly presents Neil Simon’s beloved comedy masterpiece The Odd Couple — newly revised and more entertaining than ever! Performances will take place in the Kindig Performing Arts Center on SSC’s Main Campus on November 14 and 21, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., and November 15 and 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
In this reimagined version of Simon’s timeless hit, the roles are reversed and the spotlight shines on the ladies. Meet Olive Madison and Florence Unger—two friends whose wildly different personalities collide when they become unlikely roommates. Olive is carefree, messy, and relaxed, while Florence is precise, tidy, and a stickler for order. Their clashing lifestyles set the stage for laugh-out-loud chaos, especially when Olive arranges a double date with the charming Costazuela brothers.
The talented cast features:
- Genesis Barlow of Lansing as Sylvie
- Patti Grenchik of Whiting as Vera
- Ms. Mxyzptlk of Lansing as Renee
- Betty Neil of Markham as Mickey
- Jocelyn Orozco of Lynwood as Olive Madison
- Rik Schmittel of Whiting as Manolo Costazuela
- Jim Walters of Chicago Heights as Jesus Costazuela
- Heather Young of Chicago as Florence Unger
Behind the scenes, the production is led by Director Sandra Wagner of Lansing, with Set Designer and Stage Manager Pat Nevins of Homewood, Costume Designer Joanna Tassin of Dolton, and Sound and Lighting Technicians David Campbell of Park Forest and Colette DeVries of Midlothian.
“This version of The Odd Couple brings a fresh and hilarious energy to a classic story,” said Director Sandra Wagner. “Our cast has incredible chemistry, and audiences will love seeing how these familiar dynamics play out with a new twist. It’s witty, heartfelt, and full of laugh-out-loud moments.”
Tickets will be sold at the door. Prices are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. SSC students and staff can enjoy a special offer: buy one ticket for $5 and get one free. Please note that only cash or check payments are accepted; electronic payments are not available.
