Morning Briefing: Blue Jays Within One Game of WS Victory
Good Morning, Mets fans!
The Toronto Blue Jays have continuously been counted out during their magical postseason run, yet they find a way to bounce back every time. This continues to show in the World Series, where after being down 2-1 after three games, they have now punched back with two road victories and go back to Toronto with two chances to secure a championship clinching victory.
The Jays came hot out of the gates last night as lead-off hitter Davis Schneider attacked Blake Snell, hitting a homer in the first at-bat of the game. The Toronto offense would continue to nickel and dime Snell throughout the game, tagging five earned runs to Blake’s line after 6.2 IP and 116 total pitches thrown. On the other side, the Jays’ rookie stud Trey Yesavage continued to show no pulse in the big moment, pitching seven innings of one-run ball with 12 strikeouts.
After a 6-1 defeat in Los Angeles, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will try and force a decisive game 7 as he faces Toronto’s Kevin Gausman, looking to bring Canada its first World Series crown since 1993.
