Mets’ Projected Arbitration Salaries for 2026
Francisco Alvarez and David Peterson highlight the nine Mets who will be arbitration-eligible this winter. MLBTradeRumors continued their annual arbitration projections (how much a team will offer a player) on Monday.
Here are the estimates. The number in the parentheses represents a player’s estimated service time in MLB.
- LHP David Peterson, $7.64 million (5.089 years)
- OF Tyrone Taylor, $3.64 million (5.093 years)
- RHP Tylor Megill, $2.6 million (4.031 years)
- C Francisco Alvarez, $2.4 million (2.164 years)
- C Luis Torrens, $2.2 million (5.105 years)
- RHP Reed Garrett, $1.4 million (2.143 years)
- INF Nick Madrigal, $1.35 million (5.087 years)
- RHP Huascar Brazobán, $1.3 million (2.170 years)
- RHP Max Kranick, $1.1 million (3.011 years)
Notably, Megill, Garrett and Kranick all had their years cut short due to injury (Tommy John for Megill & Garrett, flexor tendon for Kranick). Meanwhile, Madrigal never saw an inning in Flushing after suffering a season-ending shoulder fracture in spring training. Keep an eye on injured players as non-tender candidates, especially as the Mets look to shake things up for another 2026 run.
Peterson enters his final year of arbitration before becoming a free agent, while Alvarez is arbitration-eligible for the first time in his career.
If players and the team cannot reach an agreed-upon contract for the 2026 season by mid-January, a hearing will be scheduled for January. If an agreement is still not arranged by the hearing, a group of arbitrators listens to each side’s case (the team and the player) and then selects one of the submitted salaries (the team’s or the player’s). That will then be the player’s salary for the 2026 season.
