Mets Minors Recap: Jett Williams Hits First Triple-A Homer

Recently promoted top prospects Jett Williams and Carson Benge had productive days at the dish for Triple-A Syracuse.

Triple-A

Rochester Red Wings (44-69) 14, Syracuse Mets (61-55) 3

Box Score

Benge is now hitting .323/.412/.564, with eight home runs and 23 RBIs over his last 34 games –32 in Double and two in Triple-A. Williams hit his first Triple-A home run and his 11th of the season.

Luisangel Acuña chipped in with two hits and an RBI.

In their second straight bullpen game, the Syracuse Mets struggled. Every pitcher that followed Herget– Justin Garza, Dylan Ross, Douglas Orellana, Alex Carrillo, and position player Luke Ritter– allowed at least one run.

The loss puts Syracuse at 30-11 in the second half and back into a tie with Scranton for a playoff spot.

Both Double-A Binghamton and High-A Brooklyn had their games postponed due to rain. Brooklyn will play a doubleheader today, and Binghamton will play on Saturday. 

Low-A

It was a big night for 2025 draftees and signees, with Voit, Jimenez, Bay, Meggers and Robertson all playing key roles in the 8-0 win. Henriquez has a 1.074 OPS and eight stolen bases in August. Voit, the Mets’ first-round pick this year, has six steals in his last five games.

Cosper threw five scoreless innings in his pro debut despite topping out at 88 mph with his fastball. Lara, only 18, hit 98 mph in his scoreless outing.

The Bridge League got underway in Port St. Lucie with two 2025 draft picks in action: 9th-round infielder Anthony Frobose and 11th-round outfielder Wyatt Vincent
