Morning Briefing: Tylor Megill Close to Rehab Assignment
Good morning, Mets fans!
Prior to Friday’s game, Carlos Mendoza spoke to reporters about Tylor Megill, who threw a bullpen session on Thursday. Per Mendoza, Megill is getting closer to starting a rehab assignment. Before going on the injured list, Megill was 5-5 with a 3.95 ERA on the year.

The Mets (63-53) lost to the Brewers (71-44) 3-2 on Friday night, ending the game when Starling Marte was thrown out at home with a chance to tie it. Kodai Senga allowed two runs (one earned) in 4 1/3 innings, while four relievers combined for 3 2/3 scoreless innings, but it wasn’t good enough as the Mets earned their fifth consecutive loss.

Veteran pitcher Alex Wood announced his retirement on Friday. Wood pitched for 12 seasons and was an All-Star with the Dodgers in 2017. He complied a career 77-68 record with a 3.78 ERA.
