Morning Briefing: Video Suggests Lindor to be Named Captain
Good morning, Mets fans!
A video posted on MLB.com on Wednesday suggested that Francisco Lindor will be named the Mets’ captain this weekend. The video featured a highlight reel of the four previous captains, with Lindor included at the end. The Mets are set to retire the number of their most recent captain, David Wright, on Saturday.

The Mets promoted catching prospect Chris Suero to Double-A Binghamton. Suero led the South Atlantic League with 13 homers and a 150 wRC+ over 301 plate appearances. He also leads all minor league catchers with 25 steals.
Mets prospects Yunior Amparo and Adolfo Miranda have been named to the Dominican Summer League All-Star Game.
Edward Lantigua and Jace Hampson were ranked in Baseball America‘s top 25 prospects in the Florida Complex League. They check in at 12 and 14, respectively.

Backyard Sports will be in attendance at Sunday’s Mets game, hanging out at Mets Plaza.
The Yorktown Press profiled Mets ninth-round pick Anthony Frobose, who said he plans on signing with the team. Frobose had committed to play baseball at Rutgers University.
