In Mariners news...

• The Mariners have claimed outfielder Jacob Hurtubise off waivers from the Reds. Hurtubise was initially drafted by Seattle in the 39th round of the 2019 draft, but did not sign with the club.
• After a strong showing in the last month, Harry Ford finds himself back in the Baseball America top 100. Though it’s certainly odd they list him as an outfielder given he hasn’t played an inning there this year, and only 8 total games there in his career.

• Former big league skipper Joe Torre has been named as an honorary coach for the AL All-Star squad.
• Phillies outfielder Nick Castellanos was benched from Tuesday’s game for making an “inappropriate comment” on Monday.
• The MLB Draft Combine is underway, and Jonathan Mayo recapped the first day of the event by highlighting the standout players so far.
• Angels outfielder Jo Adell is slowly but surely getting better, writes Jay Jaffe at Fangraphs.
