It’s Sunday, and if it’s Sunday, it’s Father’s Day!

In Mariners news...

Around the league...

  • The most important news of the season so far.
  • Freddy Peralta has apparently been trying to get an extension done with the Brewers, but hasn’t yet been successful. Were the Brewers not inclined to extend Peralta, he could be a fascinating addition to the trade market next month.
  • MLB appears to have made the archival footage of last years reverse boycott game in Oakland unavailable to watch on their archives. In this writer’s opinion, if the league thought no one would notice this move, they’re not very smart.
  • Aaron Judge is so clearly the best hitter in the league that the New York Post is already entertaining the possibility of him winning the Triple Crown in mid-June. ($)
  • But wait, there’s more. According to Davy Andrews at Fangraphs, Aaron Judge’s xWOBAcon, or his xWOBA every time he makes contact, is effectively the same as a walk. That might not sound like much, but I assure you it’s astronomical.
  • The Los Angeles Times ran an op-ed objecting to the Dodgers’ failure to comment on the ICE raids and associatied protests and federal response in Los Angeles.
  • The Dodgers organization might be loudly silent on the recent unrest in Los Angeles but Kiké Hernández is not the Dodgers organization.
