A’s Look to return to the Win Column

Fresh off a series sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels, the Athletics travel to the Midwest to take on the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. The 26-44 A’s face off against the Royals who currently sit at 34-35 and fourth place in the American League Central.

Luis Severino will take the mound for the Athletics tonight. Severino is currently 1-6 with a 4.77 ERA in fourteen starts and eighty-three total innings. In his five road starts, he’s 1-0 with an outstanding 0.87 ERA, compared to his nine home starts where he is 0-5 with a 7.10 ERA. It will be interesting to see if those splits hold true tonight in KC.

Starting tonight for the Royals is 33-year-old veteran righty Michael Wacha. He is 3-5 with a 3.01 ERA in thirteen starts during the 2025 season. He’s logged fifty-five strikeouts in 74.2 innings.

Jacob Wilson makes his return today after missing a few games due to hamstring tightness. Wacha will face the following lineup for the Athletics today which includes the red-hot Brett Rooker fresh off his two-homer game on Wednesday:
