Tigers Homeruns Beat The O’s Homerun

0 1

Three homeruns, that was the totality of the run scoring on Thursday night at Camden Yards as the Baltimore Orioles fell to the Detroit Tigers (45-25) 4-1. One day removed from a sixteen hit attack, the Orioles were held to one-fourth of that total by Detroit pitching.

The Orioles opted to go with an opener for the game, utilizing Keegan Akin (1.0 IP, H, BB, 2 K) for the first inning, followed by the original projected starter, Dean Kremer (5-7).

Kremer pitched 7.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits (2 HR) while walking 2 and striking out 8. Kremer surrendered both homeruns in a four-run fourth inning. A solo homerun by Dillon Dingler and a three-run homerun by Parker Meadows two batters later were all the scoring Detroit needed to win the game and pin the loss to Kremer’s record.

The Orioles did show some signs of offense in the eighth inning with Dylan Carlson‘s fourth homerun of the season, a homerun that travelled 408 ft. into right-centerfield. Carlson was the only Oriole batter with any modicum of success against Detroit’s Tarik Skubal (7-2) and Tommy Kahnle, going 3 for 3 with a homerun, 1 run scored and 1 RBI.

Gunnar Henderson went 1 for 4.
