Game #17: Athletics at White Sox Game Thread
Kicking off the road trip in the Windy City
Let’s hope that day off helped. The A’s are back at it today as they travel to Chicago to take on the White Sox on Jackie Robinson Day in the Windy City. It’ll be the first of three in Chicago before continuing the road trip this weekend, but first things first.
The A’s will turn to lefty Jeffrey Springs to start the series off on the right foot for the team. Springs has been up and down so far this as he’s sporting a 4.20 ERA through three starts. He’ll have an excellent chance to lower than number today against a White Sox team that has struggled on offense all season, with even star center fielder Luis Robert Jr. struggling to date.
The A’s lineup to kick off the series breaks down like this tonight:

All the regulars are in there for the start of the road trip. The only real difference is Brent Rooker manning left field while Miguel Andujar slides into the DH role.
Going for Chicago against the Athletics will be rookie right-hander Sean Burke. The young gun had an interesting first cup of coffee with the White Sox at the end of last year but hasn’t looked as sharp to start this year. He’s coming off an outing where he only went three innings and allowed three runs.
Chicago’s lineup behind Burke looks like this:
