Game Thread: White Sox at Tigers
Can the South Siders avoid their first sweep of the season?
Happy Sunday! Today, the Chicago White Sox finish off their series in Motor City against the Detroit Tigers. The team has lost two in a row to Detroit and four consecutive games total, and looks to get out of their offensive and pitching slump. After allowing seven runs to the Tigers the last two games, all of them coming early, let’s see if lefty Martín Pérez can provide some stability for the team on the mound. Rookie Jackson Jobe looks to do the same for the Tigers.
Pérez is 1-0 after a great game against the Minnesota Twins where he had nine strikeouts in six no-hit innings with no runs. The lone lefty in this rotation has not disappointed, so let’s see what he can do today against a dominant offense in the Tigers.
Prior to today’s series finale at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder Mike Tauchman from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.

The team will waste no time in Tauchman’s return, making him the leadoff hitter. A slumping Luis Robert Jr. will follow, and the Andrew’s as well. Matt Thaiss is behind the plate, Miguel Vargas at third, and Brooks Baldwin at second. Jake Amaya takes short and Michael A. Taylor will round it out in left field.
Game time is at 12:40 p.m. CT. Catch it on CHSN+ and ESPN1000.
