The Chicago White Sox have claimed right-handed pitcher Mike Vasil off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays.

To make room for Vasil on the 40-man roster, the White Sox placed right-hander Prelander Berroa on the 60-day injured list.
Mike Vasil is a 25-year-old pitching prospect, initially drafted in the 8th round by the New York Mets in 2021.

Rule 5 stipulations still apply here; it's only the team that's changed. Vasil must stick in Chicago all season or be offered back to the Mets.
The Rule 5 pick cannot be sent back to the minor leagues this season, so he will likely make the Opening Day roster after the recent surge of pitching injuries.
An impressive day for former #Mets prospect and @BKCyclones pitcher Mike Vasil.

With the #Rays against his former club: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 K on 51 pitches (29 strikes).

Some say his windup is even Gerrit Cole-esque, but let’s not get that far yet. Either way he was a promising young prospect at one point, so let’s see what he can do on the South Side.
Seems likely OF Mike Tauchman (hamstring) and IF Josh Rojas (hairline fracture big toe) will open season on IL. https://t.co/BD5XQP9f53

The injury bug has hit hard on just March 23. Here is the second-to-last spring lineup, as Miguel Vargas leads it off. Luis Robert Jr. is in the 2-hole, and Andrew Benintendi third. Andrew Vaughn, Lenyn Sosa, and Austin Slater will occupy the middle of the lineup. Chase Meidroth, Omar Narváez, and Michael A. Taylor will close it out.
Eisert has appeared in eight games this spring, with a 7.36 ERA in 7 1⁄3 IP. The lefty has seven strikeouts, and was also claimed off of waivers from the Rays in early February. He spent last season within the Toronto minors, ending the season up with the Blue Jays.
White Sox clarify that Adams is being evaluated this week by Dr. Keith Meister. All options still on the table, per club. https://t.co/HONc9QGqA1

Also, another Tommy John surgery, this one for Mason Adams, as the team all but announced this afternoon.
Anyways, after all that information, this game will be on both CHSN and ESPN1000 to watch and listen. Game time is 3:05 p.m. CT.
