Do you have what it takes?

It’s that time of year: March Madness, baby. If you’re hankerin’ to enter in some brackets and earn some internet brownie points by winning a meaningless and random online contest, have we got an option for you: the Royals Review bracket challenge.

We’ve been doing this every year since at least 2014, and it’s fun to see just how bad we are at predicting sports that aren’t baseball—not that baseball itself was any easier to predict.

2024 Winners

  • First Place: Feller
  • Second Place: Army_Wo_Pilot’s Picks 1
  • Third Place: ksbuff
  • Honorable mention: Patty-Wick great champ

How to Join

  1. Go to the ESPN Tournament Challenge page.
  2. If you don’t already have an ESPN profile, sign up—it’s free and only requires an email account.
  3. Under the ‘My Groups’ tab click ‘Find a Group’ and search for ‘Royals Review - 2025;’ we have one for the men’s tournament and one for the women’s tournament. Or, just follow this hyperlink for the men’s bracket or this hyperlink for the women’s bracket.
  4. Enter the password of JacAttack (same password for both groups) and join.

You can then, under ‘My Brackets,’ choose your teams until the first round of 64 begins. Now, some things have changed a little - since the Disney and ESPN logins have sort of congealed, the username isn’t as clear as it is and there are a lot of real names there. As a result, if you could be so kind, include your Royals Review screenname in the bracket name.

Good luck, everyone.
