• Marinerland got their first tough injury news yesterday, with George Kirby being shut down with shoulder inflammation. While it’s a near-certainty he’ll begin the regular season on the injured list, Mariners GM Justin Hollander said that the MRI revealed no structural damage.
• Mike Vorel went in depth at the Seattle Times on the day-to-day of M’s infield coach Perry Hill.
• Also at the Times, Adam Jude profiled the bond between Ryan Bliss and J.P. Crawford, also examining the recent decline of Black players in Major League Baseball.
