Who has the longest drive in the history of the PGA Tour? Well, it’s complicated.Two very, very long drives were aided by hitting multiple cart paths or helped by wind and altitude.At the 1992 Texas Open, Carl Cooper hit a 787-yard drive on the par-4 third hole, and it ended up behind the 12th green. Before that, at the 1974 National Seniors Open Championship, Mike Austin hit one 515 yards, but the hole was 2,000 feet above sea level and had a big helping wind.At the 2022 Mercedes Championship (Plantation Course, Kapalua, Hawaii), Tiger Woods hit a drive on the 18th hole that traveled 498 yards.
