White Sox Reacts Survey: Optimism reigns
Somehow, two-thirds of readers think the club will lose no more than 111
Our first Reacts survey of the season begs an obvious question, and your answers did surprise:
Two-thirds of you feel the White Sox will lose no more than 111 games. At worst, that means the 2025 White Sox will improve by a minimum of 10 games. Goodness. The outliers of either a fantastically “great” season (fewer than 92 losses) or another record-breaker (122+) being chosen about equally feels about right, however.
For the record, I am in the 7%.
The broad question in the survey asked readers to handicap the AL Central:
Even tossing out the 2% pranksters, it’s a bit stunning that only 84% feel the White Sox are a last place team. However, of course, the broad electorate (all MLB Reacts voters, beyond the White Sox base) agree:
Some possibly unjustified support for Cleveland, there, but otherwise this seems in line with logic. Again, shout-out to the 1% White Sox superfans, practical jokers, or folks who just didn’t understand the question.
For the record, the other division winners as projected by the MLB Reacts reader votes:
AL East Yankees (53%)
AL West Rangers (40%)
NL Central Cubs (42%)
NL East Mets (36%)
NL West Dodgers (85%)
