Morning Briefing: Mets Continuing to Explore Trade Options
Good morning, Mets fans!
Per SI’s Pat Ragazzo, the Mets have checked in on Rays infielder Yandy Díaz again this offseason. The 33-year-old hit .281/.341/.414 with 14 homers and 65 RBIs in 2024 and was an All-Star, Silver Slugger and AL batting champ in 2023. He’s set to earn $10 million in 2025 with a $12 million club option for 2026.
Ragazzo also reports the Mets have explored trade options for Tigers’ Spencer Torkelson and Orioles’ Ryan Mountcastle while awaiting clarity on Pete Alonso’s future. Additionally, they have interest in reliever Ryan Brasier, who was DFA’d by the Dodgers. For more, check out our article on the situation.
